Why have my compost analyzed?

The analysis of the compost allows us to know its agronomic value. It informs about the fertilization to bring to make a success of your vegetable or pleasure garden.

Description of the analyzes carried out by the laboratory

Dry matter (DM) : Corresponds to the percentage of product when the water is extracted

Organic matter : Comes from the degradation of microorganisms, plants, animals

Total nitrogen : Total nitrogen includes mineral (ammonia, nitrates, urea nitrogen) and organic forms. The majority of organic nitrogen must mineralize in the soil to be transformed into ammoniacal nitrogen.

Ammonia nitrogen : This form of nitrogen is readily available, it represents only a small proportion of total nitrogen unlike organic nitrogen.

C / N report : Provides information on the state of degradation of organic matter

Phosphorus : Information on available phosphorus is expressed as P2O5

Potassium : Informs about the available potassium is expressed in K2O (potash)

Calcium : Informs about the available calcium is expressed in CaO (lime)

Magnesium : Informs about the magnesium available is expressed in MgO (magnesia)

Analysis results

results sent by email within 10 to 15 working days after receipt at the laboratory

an expert from the laboratory can be reached by email and by phone for any explanation of the results transmitted (contact details of the expert on the analysis report)
