Data sheet

Contexte de l'analyseThe quality of your aquarium water is essential. This parameter is as important as air for a human being. In nature, fish live in more or less acidic waters (depending on the soil, the origin of the water, the aquatic plantation, the current, etc.). It is therefore advisable to adapt the aquarium water to the needs of the fish and not to try to make fish live in mismatched waters by trying to acclimatize them… Analyzing the water in your aquarium regularly will help you stay on the lookout for imbalances as well as prevent significant buildups of harmful chemicals.
Liste des analyses réaliséespH, conductivity, hardness (TH), TA-TAC (carbonates), nitrites, nitrates, NH4, phosphates, calcium, magnesium, strontium, copper, silicates

Why have my aquarium water analyzed?

Important analysis to ensure the correct balance of the aquarium water, and prevent problems related to the presence or accumulation of toxic products for fish, such as nitrites and nitrates. Some fish are very demanding on the quality of the water in terms of pH and hardness, the water must then be well adapted.

Description of the analyzes carried out by the laboratory

pH : The pH of seawater is naturally basic. A drop in pH (<7.8) can cause coral death. This fall can originate from an accumulation of protein waste in the aquarium (overeating of fish, accumulation of fish faeces, dead body, poor adjustment of the skimmer ...)

Calcium: Major ion for cell metabolism, enzyme activation, skeleton building

Conductivity : Assessment of overall mineralization of water and salinity of water

Hardness : Overall content of calcium (Ca) and magnesium (Mg) salts

TA-TAC carbonates : Concentration of carbonates and bicarbonates. Full Alkalimetric Title: Corresponds to bicarbonate, borate carbonate and hydroxide ions. Buffering capacity of water. Carbonates are consumed by invertebrates and crustaceans for the manufacture of their constituents (exoskeletons, spicules, shell ...)

Nitrites : Undesirable chemical substance, toxic to fish in very small quantities

Nitrates : Waste from the nitrogen cycle becoming toxic by accumulation

Magnesium: It limits the precipitation of calcium carbonate, and associated with carbonate, it helps to maintain the level of available calcium ion and avoids the risk of falling KH (carbonate). Intervenes in the formation of the coral skeleton, helps in better fixation of phosphates. Necessary for the moulting of crustaceans

Strontium: Development and growth of hard corals
Phosphates: Used by algae for their growth, including filamentous algae

Phosphates: Utilisés par les algues pour leur croissance, dont les algues filamenteuses

Silicates: Risk of overgrowth of diatoms

Copper : Poison for invertebrates (corals, shrimps ...). May be present in case of preventive or curative medical treatment of your bin.
